Up at 07:09, after saying goodbye to Shahbaz at 06:30. I skipped having a wash. I’m having breakfast now at 08:01. Still need to wash my socks.
I have a 30 kilometre day ahead of me to a campsite at Mammendorf. The weather is due to be good, and not insanely hot.
08:19: Finished breakfast. I’m going to pack now. I have a slight feeling of anxiety.
09:22: Out on the street. Making my way to the post office bookshop.
09:43: €5.05 to send the pot I never use and the maps to Mamma. I also took €110 from a cash machine. Now I’m heading south to pick up my trail.

11:07: I’ve crossed the Lech river. Kissing is 5.2 kilometres away, mostly following the river.
11:18: Stopping to put on sunblock. The sun is hazy, but still casting shadows.

12:49: Wow, that was really good: pickled veg, coarse-grated carrot and vinegary mixed bean salad and a few other bits.
13:03: €4.25 for a Linzer Schnitte (a cross betweeen lemon drizzle cake and cheesecake base) and a small, very dark hot chocolate.

15:44: At Hochdorf, where the onion-dome church spire has a bit of a lean. It’s 2 km to Althegnenberg, and my destination for today, Mammendorf, is 13 km away according to the sign.

17:23: Walking through a grassy field I was plagued by biting flies of some sort until I smeared myself liberally with DEET. They don’t like it. They’re still swarming, but not landing or biting.
17:40 Loitershofen. It’s taking me longer to write this than it’ll take me to walk through the village.

18:39: At the campground. There are loos and stuff, but it’s all locked up. There are outside taps that work, so I can get water.
18:48: Spoke to someone on the phone — I can probably get a key.
19:05: Checked in. €8.00. I’m in slot 8 as well.
19:13: OK, found it. It’s unnecessarily shady. Tomorrow is a feast day, I hear. I’ll play it by ear.
20:08: Back from Aldi. €6.81 for a substantial and healthy dinner.
21:44: Climbing into bed, finally. Dinner was three bread rolls, two generous portions of shredded carrot, cheese slices (top quality) and two yoghurts.
